Beijing, August 28th, 2023 — Universal Beijing Resort announces its first "Birthday Month" special event, taking place on September 1st, 2023. This grand celebration of Universal Beijing Resort’s two-year anniversary will last all September. New characters, Universal Pop special performances, new themed merchandise, great food and drinks, blockbusters movies back on the big screen, and other exciting experiences will dazzle guests during this time. Additionally, special activities will be made available for team members to participate. In further celebration of this anniversary, a documentary titled "The Incredible Journey of Creation" was created. This documentary captures the remarkable journey of bringing Universal Beijing Resort to life. It will premiere exclusively on Tencent Video from September 1, 2023 to September 20, 2023. As Universal Beijing Resort embarks on a new year of adventures, this documentary looks back at the birth of the resort, from blueprint to reality, bringing more inspiration and memorable experiences in celebration of the festive Birthday Month.

From the beginning, Universal Beijing Resort has embarked upon an incredible journey of creation, bringing unique immersive blockbuster movie theme park experiences to life. Since grand opening two years ago, Universal Beijing Resort has collaborated with guests, team members and partners to create countless remarkable moments and touching stories. On this 2nd anniversary of grand opening, Universal Beijing Resort has dedicated a "Birthday Month" special event, inviting all to join in this unique celebration and start a new journey to create more spectacular moments together in the world of blockbuster fun.

New Surprises for the Journey of Creation, Join Universal Beijing Resort to Have Joyful Birthday Experiences
During the event, Universal Beijing Resort will present a series of birthday surprises, infusing the blockbuster fun with a vibrant and festive atmosphere, and inviting guests to create new unforgettable memories together.
New characters will make limited-time appearances during the month-long birthday celebration. Poppy from DreamWorks Animation’s hit film Trolls will make her debut at Universal Beijing Resort. Also, from DreamWorks Animation, the beloved character Puss in Boots will make a comeback and bring along his girlfriend Kitty Softpaws for the very first time. Additionally, guests will have the opportunity to meet Illumination’s Minion Monsters, who will provide a sneak peek of future in-park seasonal experiences.

A high-energy pop music party with a wave of birthday-themed music will kick off for our guests. Universal Pop will perform a limited birthday song list, including the Universal Beijing Resort theme song “This is Universal”, and a medley from the Trolls movie. Dynamic vocal abilities, energetic dance moves, and popstar presence will transport guests to a lively birthday party, unleashing joyful energy and rhythm.
Classic blockbusters movies will be back on the big screen, allowing guests to relive legendary moments in cinema history. Universal CityWalk Cinema will feature a collection of 5 classic movies throughout September, including Illumination's "Minions: The Rise of Gru" and "Sing”, DreamWorks Animation’s "Kung Fu Panda” and "How to Train Your Dragon”, and the classic film "Jurassic Park", allowing guests to relive the excitement and emotion brought by these iconic movies. Guests and viewers can check movie schedules for Universal CityWalk Cinema and order movie tickets on major online movie ticketing platforms.
Birthday Month special souvenirs will make their debut, providing guests with the opportunity to commemorate this special occasion. In the shape of a vintage movie camera, the 2nd Anniversary souvenir cup of ‘Blockbuster’ theme has a sense of ceremony, inviting guests to experience the classic movie feel, and happy moments of every scene in the world of blockbusters. The new Minions’ popcorn bucket will feature an irresistibly adorable banana-headed Bob, with various interactive modes, including talking, handshaking, and winking.

Rich in detail and emotional depth, "The Incredible Journey of Creation" documentary series authentically presents the process of turning dreams into reality at Universal Beijing Resort. Designers and builders from around the world worked across borders and combined cutting-edge technology and art to bring the world of blockbusters to life. Through nine episodes, the documentary showcases the impressive creation process of the seven themed lands within the Universal Beijing Resort and goes behind the scenes of a world-class theme park. It also offers a glimpse into the delightful stories of how global cuisine was brought to the resort, as well as Universal Beijing Resort's commitment to environmental sustainability. The nine episodes vividly embody Universal Beijing Resort's relentless focus on quality and guest experience.
The documentary series "The Incredible Journey of Creation" will premiere on Tencent Video starting September 1, 2023, with new episodes released every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 12:00 p.m., for a total of nine episodes. On August 28th, Tencent Video will release a special teaser trailer for the series, giving viewers a sneak peek into the inspiring journey of the world of blockbusters from blueprint to reality. Starting from September 6th, guests who participate in online social campaigns launched on official WeChat account of Universal Beijing Resort will have the chance to win limited-edition merchandise by visiting the Universal Beijing Resort sites featured in the documentary.
